Simple Steps to a Successful Diet Diary: Track Your Exercise with Ease!

Tracking your exercise is easy when you use a clear diet diary. Log your activities to see progress. Stay motivated and learn about your energy use. Follow these simple steps to add your entries.

Getting Started with Your Diet Diary

Open your diet diary app. Go to the diary section. Tap the plus icon to add an entry.

Step 1: Logging Existing Exercises

  1. Access the Exercise Database:
    • In the diary, tap the plus icon near the exercise section.
    • A search box appears. Type the name of your exercise (for example, “walking”).

  2. Select Exercise and Log Duration:
    • From the list, tap the activity you did.
    • Type the time you spent (in seconds, minutes, or hours).
    • You can add a note if you want.

  3. Energy Burn Calculation:
    • The app shows how much energy you burned.
    • It uses your age, gender, and weight to calculate this.
    • Find these details in the “About” section of settings.

Step 2: Adding Custom Exercises

If you do an exercise that is not in the database, you can add it yourself:

  1. Creating Custom Exercises:
    • Tap the resources tab.
    • Tap the plus button.
    • Choose “Custom Exercise.”
    • Type the name, time, and the energy burn (in kilojoules or calories).
    • Tap “Save.”

  2. Using Custom Exercises in Your Diary:
    • After you create the exercise, go back to the diary.
    • Tap the plus icon again.
    • Choose “My Exercises.” Look for your custom entry and adjust it if needed.

Step 3: Editing or Deleting Exercises

Sometimes your exercise routine changes. Here is how to update your entries:

  1. Editing an Exercise:
    • Go to the resources tab and select “My Exercises.”
    • Tap the exercise you want to change.
    • Make your changes and save.
    • Note that your edits change all past and future entries for that exercise.

  2. Deleting an Exercise:
    • In “My Exercises,” tap the ellipses next to the exercise name.
    • Choose to delete the exercise.
    • This deletion is permanent, but old entries stay in your diary.

  3. Duplicating Exercises:
    • To copy an entry, go to “My Exercises.”
    • Select the duplicate option.
    • A new entry appears with “copy” in the name. Adjust it as needed.

Conclusion

These steps make it simple to track your exercise in a diet diary. Log activities from a list or add your own custom entries. This method gives you clear insights into your health and wellness journey. Keep your diary updated, and enjoy a smooth path to a healthier lifestyle.
