In today’s fast-paced world, students need vaccines on time. Timely vaccines protect each student and help the community. The School Nurse Reminder Recall Program manages student vaccine records. It keeps vaccine dates current. This text explains the program’s steps using ideas from a recent video.
Overview of the Program
School nurses use the Reminder Recall program. Nurses find students needing vaccines. They work with the Reminder/Recall report. The report shows due vaccines. CT WiZ runs this system. Accurate records keep students safe in each school or district.
Requirements and Access
Before using the program, users must sign in to CT WiZ. They must join one school or district. A guide helps school nurses join CT WiZ. After access, nurses view only their school-related data. Data stays private and focused.
Generating the Reminder/Recall Report
To get a Reminder/Recall report, follow these steps:
-
Accessing the Report Menu:
Log in to CT WiZ. Then, go to the left menu. Click on 'Reports' and then 'Patient Reminder/Recall - School Version'. -
Creating a New Run:
Click 'Add Reminder/Recall Run'. A form opens for report details.
Enter a run name and scheduling date. The report runs overnight using this date. -
Setting Parameters:

- Enter an age range or grade to pinpoint the report. For 11th-grade students, use an age range such as 15 to 19 years.
-
Selecting Vaccines:
Pick the vaccine series from the list. For example, select the COVID-19 vaccine. Leave the dose field blank to include all shots. -
Reviewing Results:
When the report finishes, go back to the reports menu. Compare runs to check more students have been vaccinated.
Interpreting the Report
The report shows each student’s vaccine history. It lists contact details and overdue vaccines. This list helps nurses talk with families. It makes follow-ups clear and simple.
Making Adjustments and Deletions
If a nurse makes a mistake with a run, the nurse can delete it. Only users with deletion rights can delete a run. A run can be deleted only when its through date is over 120 days old.
Steps to Delete a Report:
- Open the report menu as before.
- Find the Reminder/Recall run to delete and click its view option.
- At the page bottom, click delete.
If the report is too recent, a warning shows that the run cannot be deleted.
