Staying Sharp: Essential Reminders and Exciting Updates for RIT Students

Staying Sharp: Essential Reminders and Exciting Updates for RIT Students

As we get ready for a new semester at RIT, we follow clear health rules. Classes start on January 25th. Students must meet key requirements. Read these updates and reminders carefully.

Spring Circulation Plan

Students fill out the Spring Circulation Plan on the MyLife portal. You do this even if you do not plan to attend classes in person. You tell RIT your plans so that the right steps follow before you return.

For students who will attend on campus, you must do the following:

  1. Proof of Negative COVID-19 Test
Show evidence of a negative test taken on or after January 7, 2021. Arrange your test early to allow time for any delays.

  2. Flu Vaccination Proof
Provide proof that you received your seasonal flu shot.

  3. New York State Travel Requirements
Read and follow the travel guidelines set by New York State.

  4. COVID-19 Student Training
Finish the required training to learn the safety measures.

  5. Daily Health Screening
Complete a health check every day. Start at least two weeks before you return to campus.

  6. Update Your Contact Information
Make sure your contact details are correct in the system.

If you have any questions, you can find your contact person in the MyLife portal.

COVID-19 Vaccination Updates

You can choose to get the COVID-19 vaccine; it is not required. Many vaccines have emergency approval from the U.S. government, and health experts trust their safety. Governor Andrew Cuomo has shared priority groups for the vaccine. At first, supplies are low, but more people will qualify as distribution increases. Visit the New York State website for the latest details.

Even after vaccination, RIT keeps its safety rules. You must wear a mask, practice hand hygiene, and keep physical distance. New York has an app to help you check eligibility, find vaccine sites, and schedule appointments.

Staying Informed and Engaged

Talk with your doctor if you have questions about the vaccine. The RIT Service Center is also available to help.

Stay connected by checking the RIT Ready website for updates. RIT students have shown strength in tough times and take care of each other.

We face the new semester with a chance to learn, grow, and support one another. Be well, stay safe, and have a great semester!
